 Died of renal failure and associated complications, in Bloemfontein National Hospital. The Board of Enquiry stated that this was as a result of injuries received in a punishment (or "Takkie Parade") received on 9 January. He was initially treated at 3 Mil Hospital and later transferred to the National Hospital

Son of Mr. J. Moorcroft, of Florida North, Johannesburg. The Board of Enquiry recommended that the case be handed over to the Attorney General and any steps against the Officer and NCO who were present at this illegal punishment parade be held over until the matter was concluded by the Attorney General
