Travelled to India to study medicine; officer cadet at Lahore Training School April / May 1941; training pilot at No.1 Service Flying Training School (India) in Ambala 4/9/1941 / 14/2/1942; commissioned 14/9/1941; served with 4 Squadron in Kohat, India. Commemorated on Durban Cenotaph WWII Memorial.
