 Killed in action, in Southern Angola when his patrol came under concentrated mortar, automatic weapons and RPG-7 anti-tank rocket fire after walking into a SWAPO/PLAN ambush close to Chana Omalapapa, North of Beacon 28. He was leading the patrol when he was shot dead at close range by an insurgent using a Soviet PKM machine-gun
