Cause of Death:
 Died in Freak Accident, was busy with the identification of unexploded aircraft-mounted bombs and ammunition at the Roodewal bombing range outside Polokwane (Pietersburg) when a mortar exploded after he had picked it up. He was part of the clearing crew based at the range, which was used by the SAAF.
