LG Sup 16 September 1918 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This officer was constantly on duty during twelve days operations. When the units on his flanks had fallen back he carried out a successful counter-attack with his platoon, and established a line of isolated posts under machine-gun fire. For some hours he patrolled these posts at great personal risk. All through, in spite of fatigue, lie rendered most valuable assistance to his company commander in rallying and reorganising the men."
