LG Sup 24 September 1918 pg. 11310 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in leading a daylight raid. He entered the enemy's trench and secured a prisoner at the point of his bayonet, shooting two of the enemy himself. Afterwards he coolly rallied his party and sent them back, while he and two other ranks covered their withdrawal. He showed a splendid example of courage and leadership."
