Son of Johannes (John) Hendrik Siebert and Barbara Johanna (nee Koch) Siebert, of Swellendam, Cape Province. Born Swellendam. A fireman with South African Railways and Harbours. Initially served in the Southern Rifles, which was one of the smaller units taking part in the German South West Africa campaign. In November 1916 he attested in the SA Railways Overseas Dominion Section. On Mossel Bay War Memorial, Western Cape
