Son of Wilmore Frederic and Florence May Putterill, of Bulwer, Natal, South Africa. Born Pietermaritzburg. A farmer. POW #263311. It is thought he was captured in the vicinity of Bir Riqait, as the Regiment passed through there on 17 June 1942, the day he was reported missing.
