Son of John Brown and Margaret Powrie, of Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa. B. Com.; C.A., S.A. Educated at St. John's College. Member of Old Johannian Club. An accountant with Alex, Aitken and Carter. Captured at Tobruk, Libya on 20 June 1942, and was held captive in Campo Prigioniero di Guerra P.G. 47 (PM 3200) at Modena in Italy before being transferred to Germany in September 1943. Liberated from Oflag VA at Weinsberg by U.S. Army Forces on 16 April 1945.
