Son of A. Graham, of 10 H Glamis Buildings, Glamis Road, London, Shadwell. Born London around 1887. Attested for the 1st South African Infantry at Potchefstroom on 12 December 1915. Sent to Bordon Camp in England, he declared his true name on 10 August 1916 and embarked from Southampton to Rouen three days later. Sent to the Western Front during the Battle of the Somme, his service record notes that he suffered a gunshot wound to the head and back on 12 April 1917; evacuated back across the Channel per H.S. Brighton for medical attention, he recovered and returned to his unit in August 1917. On 24 December 1917 he was wounded again, this time being admitted to No. 55 C.C.S. with a gunshot wound to the left hand. Sent briefly to hospital in Rouen, he was raised Lance Sergeant 15 September 1918, but was killed just over a month later. ***Served as Graham, Thomas Alfred
