Member of the St. Thomas' Boy Scout Troop, Durban; served with the NMR in GSWA 1914-1915; served as Private (#23390) in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry; served with the 3rd Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers in France. Commemorated on WWI Memorials in St. Thomas' Church, Musgrave, Durban; St. Mary's Anglican Church, Greyville, Durban; St Mildred's Church, Lee, Lewisham, London, England; Boy Scout in the Durban City Hall, Natal Mounted Rifles & the Durban Cenotaph as well as the ECMS WWI Memorial in St. Peter's Presbyterian Church, Pietermaritzburg.
