Son of David and Jane McCausland, of "Kinnycally," St. Johnston, Londonderry; husband of the late Janie McCausland (nee Morgan), of Bloemfontein, South Africa. Born Kinnycally, St Johnston, County Donegal, Northern Ireland. Served with 133rd (Ulster) Squadron, 29th Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry in the ABW 1899-1902; Served in the Duke of Edinburgh's Volunteer Rifles 1905 ? 1906. He returned to England to enlist in 1915. Settled in South Africa and returned home to again offer his services. Commemorated on St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Durban WWI Memorial & WWII Service Roll.
