 Died in Aircraft Accident. He was the Commanding Officer of the 1 South West Africa Commando Squadron and while flying on an aerial reconnaissance and patrol sortie along the coastline, near Henties Bay and Terrace Bay, flying in a civilian Piper Cherokee (ZS-EXG), he went missing without a trace.
