Son of Louisa Emily Bolton, of 15, Charlotte Rd., South Beddington, Wallington, Surrey, and the late John Bolton. Born Camberwell, Surrey 1889. Educated Alleyn's School, Dulwich, London ? left 1904. Assistant secretary of the Alleyn's Old Boys' Swimming Club. Emigrated to Durban, South Africa; returned to England August 1914 and enlisted in the British Expeditionary Force; served with the 1st Battalion EYR and saw action in Salonika in 1915 & in France and Flanders. Commemorated on the Durban Cenotaph & St. Thomas' Anglican Church, Durban & the Beddington & Wallington, Surrey, WWI Memorials & on a memorial plaque in St. Michael & All Angels Church, Wallington, Surrey, England
