Information:
Son of Victor Charles and Rosina Letitia Carter (nee Dicks). Husband of M. Carter, of Durban, Natal, South Africa. Born Ladysmith, Natal. Educated Mansfield Road School, Durban; General Botha Cadet Draft 1934-5. In 1936 Alfred Samuel Carter joined the Bank Line, and in 1941 became a Sub-Lieutenant in the Seaward Defence Force, where he remained for a year. He then joined the RNR, was afterwards transferred to the SANFVR.
