Cause of Death:
En route, Cape Town (16 Jul) - Bahia, Brazil - New York. At 02.12 hours on 25 Jul, 1944, the unescorted Robin Goodfellow (Master Bjarne Bjornsgaard) was torpedoed and sunk by U-862 in the South Atlantic. The British motor merchant Priam received a distress signal, but none of the eight officers, 33 crewmen and 27 armed guards (the ship was armed with one 4in, one 3in and five 20mm guns) survived.
