Information:
Son of Captain Arthur Alexander and Ada Kate Slatter, of Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia. Born Nairobi. Entered Milner House in January 1924; after leaving in 1929 he won a King's Cadetship to R.M.C. Sandhurst. In 1931 he served in India with the 2nd Battalion Durham Light Infantry. School Record: House Prefect, 1929; Sergeant in Cadet Corps; Rugger 1st XV, 1928-29; House Boxing team, 1925-28. Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant into the Indian Army on 29 January 1931. Promoted to Lieutenant on 29 April 1933, to Captain on 29 January 1939 and to Temporary Major on 11 July 1940. On Plumtree School Roll of Honour. Commemorated on memorial tablet in the Royal Memorial Chapel, RMA Sandhurst, Camberley, Surrey Heath Borough, Surrey, England.
