Cause of Death:
Died in ship loss, British Navy escort aircraft carrier. Converted aircraft carrier blew up and sank in the River Clyde, Scotland between the Isle of Arran and Ardrossan. Loss of 379 lives. These were US built ships and did not have the same specifications as RN carriers, especially in regard to fire precautions. It is thought that this led to the great loss of life when aircraft fuel leaked from onboard tanks and caught fire, after it thought an aircraft crash-landed
