Son of Lt. Col. Herbert Harding Cruickshank and Helen Puntan, of Ridge Road, Durban. Born West Ham, London, England June 1889. Educated Durban High School. Served as a Corporal (#107) with the Natal Mounted Rifles in GSWA 1914-1915. Commemoration stone in Mid Illovo (St. Margaret's) Anglican Churchyard, Kwazulu Natal. Commemorated on the 70-foot Macduff WWI Memorial Tower, Banff & Buchan, Grampian, Scotland & on a memorial scroll in Macduff Parish Church. Commemorated on St. Mary's Anglican Church, Greyville WWI Memorial.
