Information:
Son of Christian Daniel and Charlotte Frederikke Amalie Petersen. Husband of Ada Sabina Petersen, of 57 Gale Street, Durban. Born Copenhagen, Denmark. A rigger. Served with the Natal Naval Volunteers in ABW 1899; served as a Corporal (#1078) with Steinaecker's Horse in the ABW 1900-1902. He was discharged as medically unfit (malaria?) at Pietermaritzburg on 16/6/1902. He served with Royston's Horse in the 1906 Bambatha Rebellion. His son also died in service. Commemorated on Durban Cenotaph; St. Mary's Anglican Church, Greyville & St Cyprian?s Anglican Church, Durban WWI Memorials
