Cause of Death: |
Killed in action, at the Italian border post of El Wak, on the northern Kenyan frontier with Italian Somaliland. While advancing on Durro Hachi, a group of huts within a thorn zariba, had to cross a clearing about half a mile wide under fairly hot enemy fire. The Regiment lost its first World War II casualty, in this otherwise successful clash. |
