Cause of Death:
Killed in action, Lancaster I LL966, took off from East Kirkby, night raid to Rositz. One of two or, possibly, three aircraft shot down by anti-aircraft fire, 2 km E of Rositz, at Zschernitzsch (Altenburg), approximately 40 km S of Leipzig. Aircraft exploded on impact and wreckage was burnt and scattered over a wide area.
