Husband of E. A. L. La Roux, of Johannesburg. 22391 World War 1 Heidelberg Commando and South African Veterinary Corps. World War 2 Indian and Malay Corps. He was promoted to T/Lt on 5 May 1941 and T/Capt on 6 November 1941. Born Uitenhage, Cape Province. Served as a private in the Heidelberg Commando. This Commando was very active during during the Rebellion of 1914 and GSWA campaigns. He went on to serve with the South African Veterinary Corps in GEA. During WW2 he attested into the Indian and Malay Corps and ended up serving as a Captain with the unit in East Africa and the Middle East. Medal group sold on Spink for 240 GBP
