LG 7 December 1944 pg. 5615 - "One 30 July 1944 Corporal Kennett was the NCO in charge of a line maintenance section south of Lercatale and was responsible for the line from Brigade HQ to forward units. The whole road along which the line was laid was exposed to enemy observation (Q778519 to 775524), and was subjected to continuous enemy shellfire which caused frequent and numerous breaks in the line. The unremitting and outstanding devotion to duty and complete disregard of his personal safety displayed by Cpl Kennett in repairing the line during this period under sustained and heavy shellfire enabled line communication with the forward units to be maintained during the whole period." |
