The military plot (11C), with Cross of Sacrifice, is situated to the right of the main avenue distant from the entrance, and there is another group of war graves to the left of the avenue. The other graves are scattered throughout the cemetery. Historical notes: During the Second World War, the Empire Air Training Scheme operated

Location notes: This cemetery, which belongs to the Municipality, is situated on Forest Hill Road in the suburb of South End. From the intersection of Humewood Road, which leads along the beach front, follow La Rocher Drive in the direction of the airport for 2.2 kilometres. Turn right into Forest Hill Drive and the cemetery is on the left. The majority of the graves are in the 1939/1945 military plot (H Extension) and the rest are scattered throughout the cemetery. Historical notes: During the Second World War, the local provincial hospital operated a
military wing. No 42 Air School was based on the aerodrome on the outskirts
of the city and No 43 Air School at nearby Port Alfred. Port Elizabeth
