During the advance he organised and carried out an attack on a strongly defended locality, which had been passed by the leading waves of the attack on account of thick fog, and from which machine guns were firing into the backs of our advancing troops. By his prompt action the locality was captured, with upwards of 120 prisoners and twenty machine guns." |
