 Died of injuries, received while playing in the sea in March 1952, he injured his neck (fracture of vertebrae) when he was dumped by a large wave. He was admitted to hospital on 15 March 1952 as a result of complications and died following an operation, at the Sanatorium Hospital, Durban.
