From RHS - Brokensha, W. Case 38660 - At 11 a.m. on the 21st July, 1911, J.C. Burton was bathing in the sea at Amanzimtoti, Natal, and got into difficulty. W. Brokensha went to his help but could not save him, and was himself washed ashore half an hour after.
Son of Thomas and Sarah Brokensha; husband of May C. Brokensha, of Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa. Awarded the Royal Humane Society's Medal. Commemoration stone in Dundee Cemetery
