 LG Sup 24 February 1942 pg. 898 - "For devotion to duty and great gallantry in action at Taieb-El-Esem, Libyan Sheferzen and Playground. Bdr Britz was No.1 of "N 2" gun in "N" Troop 4 A Tank Bty SAA during period 24 to 30 November 1941. The NCO commanded his gun with marked gallantry in the face of constant and repeated tank attacks. Though unsupported or protected by infantry and with occasional support only from other guns and one occasion by a comparatively small number of tanks, this NCO continued with other guns in his troop to engage the large hostile columns against them. By his steadfastness and determination he was responsible with others for the total destruction of over 20 enemy tanks, causing serious damage to others and for disorganizing and breaking up what might have been a most serious threat to our whole operations."
