LG Sup 2 December 1918 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the defence of a village. He organised local counter-attacks when the enemy had penetrated into the position. It was largely due to his fine behaviour and leadership that these defences were held for three hours after the first penetration by the enemy."
