Son of Archibald McCallum and Maria Susanna Can McCallum (nee Rooyen), of Farm 'Amal' Carolina District. Fought for the Transvaal Republic Forces during the 2nd Anglo Boer War. Surrendered 2 August 1901 to the Captain Le Pledge Commando. Of Wonderfontein, Carolina.
