Son of Richard Edward and Kathleen Barnett, of 16, Cymmer St., Cardiff. Enlisted in the R.F.A. and served in India and there transf. to 1st R.D. and went with them to South Africa; on completion of service joined the Bechuanaland Police; rejoined his Regiment on outbreak of war in 1914.
