SCOTTISH CHIEF SS was a British Steam Tanker of 7,006 tons built in 1928. On the 19th November 1942 when on route from Bandar Abbas for Table Bay carrying a cargo of 13,000 tons of admiralty fuel she was torpedoed by German submarine U-177 and sunk. 36 crew lost from a total of 48.
