Died in Aircraft Accident, Wellington X3940, suffered an engine fire on a night cross country training flight, the pilot ordered the crew to bale out, with three complying with these orders. The aircraft crashed into Grimston Park, south of Tadcaster and the remaining two airmen in the aircraft sadly died. The aircraft had left the Finningley base at 2050 hrs and crashed fifty five minutes later |
