Assistant Master at St Andrew's College, Grahamstown, South Africa April, 1902-December, 1906. Got permission from Nizam of Hyderabad to take a commission. Attached to 32nd Lancers at Jubbulpore from whence he went to join the Imperial Service Cavalry
