Cause of Death:
Died in Aircraft Accident, Wellington IC Z1053, training night bombing practice, aircraft took off from home airfield for night bombing exercise. Aircraft was carrying 6 sand filled 250 lb practice bombs. At approx 0340hrs the aircraft stalled and dived almost vertically into the ground. Crashing between the airfields of Pershore and Defford, Worcestershire. Cause of the accident was attributed to propeller and reduction gear, shearing from one of the engines
