Information:
Brother of Mrs. E. W. Parkes, of Klipfontein, P.O. Kendrew Station, South Africa. Educated at St. Andrew's College, Grahamstown. At St Andrew's from 1904-1909. Lieutenant in 20th Mounted Infantry in rebellion and in G.S.W.A. At conclusion of the campaign he went to England and joined the R F C. In October 1917 he went missing, and the enemy later reported the destruction of the machine and the death of the aviator. ref. South African Roll of Honour 1914-1918.
