Cause of Death:
Killed in action, Halifax LW629, target Stuttgart, 557 aircraft, 4 losses due mainly to the cloudy conditions preventing the night-fighters infiltrating the bomber stream. The target was also cloudy and crews were generally unable to gauge how successful the raid had been on their return. Several important industrial buildings were hit including the Bosch and Daimler-Benz works. Many other buildings damaged in recent raids were completely razed. 125 deaths and 510 injuries on the ground
