 Presumed drowned, through loss of ship. On a voyage from Calcutta to Bahia, the British steamship Empire March was intercepted by German auxiliary cruiser Michel and sunk by gunfire 150 miles NW of Tristan da Cunha. Captain Pinkey and 24 others were taken POW aboard of the raider
