Killed in action, flying in DH.4 A7825; his observer was Sergeant H Nelle, also killed. At the time of his death, No 55 Squadron was based at Tantonville. His aircraft was seen by other crews in the formation to go down in flames, following attack from an enemy aircraft, over Karlsruhe.
