Killed in action, landmine, during Ops Ovambo. Nearing the end of a patrol, near Eenhana, the sniffer dog stopped to rest and Coetzee carried on walking and he stepped on a booby trapped anti-vehicle mine (probably something like a Cheese mine or a TM46).
