Entered College in Michaelmas Term, 1911. A member of the 1st Rugby Association XV, 1911 - 1914 (Captain, 1913 - 1914); Seniors' Rugger Trial, 1913. A member of the University Contingent of the Officers' Training Corps. President of the XIII Club, 1914. 3rd Theology and B.A., 1914. Commenced service on 2 June 1916. Second Lieutenant, 3rd Battalion, Princess Louise's (Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders), 1916; attached to the 2nd Battalion, 1917. Served in France from 1916. ref.
