Information:
Son of Percy and Elizabeth Constance White. Born Cape Town, 11th November 1921. Ed, Wynberg Boys' High School. Ex-Cadet of the South African Training Ship General Botha. Cadet Draft 1938-9. On leaving General Botha, was posted as Midshipman, RNR, and on attaining the rank of Sub-Lieutenant in 1941, posted to the destroyer HMS Matabele, which escorted Winston Churchill to the USA. He lost his life on convoy duty to Russia on 17th January 1942.
