Killed in action, Lancaster R5856, took off 2207 from Skellingthorpe to attack the flying-bomb storage facility in the caves at St Leu'. Hit by Flak and exploded in the air hurtling wreckage over a wide area between 2 and 3 km SW of Mouy (Oise) a small town 13 km NW of Creil.
