Killed in action, on 19 July, the 9th (Scottish) Division (2nd Royal Scots Fusiliers and South African Composite Battalion) recovered the site of Meteren village after a fortnight's bombardment which completely destroyed the houses.

Found at Map Reference 27.x.15.c.7.7. (or 50.7410, 2.6849). Found west of the village of Meteren, so one can likely assume he died during the fighting of July 1918. His means of identification were: Disc.
