Information:
Son of Owen Wreford Purdon and Emily (nee Sellor) Timm, of Trappes Valley, Cape Province, South Africa. Educated at Kingswood College in Grahamstown where he has an award named after him, the "Maurice Timm Prize for Mathematics and Science". It is awarded to the Grade 12 pupil who gets the highest combined mark for Mathematics and Science. He achieved 5 A's in Matric now known as Grade 12. He taught his math teacher a way to work out a sum in a new way. He was an extremely intelligent young man through out his education.
