Information:
Son of Adolph William Schafer, and of Ellen Winifred Schafer, of Glendale, Southern Rhodesia. Entered Lloyd House in January 1931. After passing his Junior Certificate and Matric, he left Plumtree in December 1936, and took up farming. He was a farm manager at the time he attested in the Royal Air Force in March 1941. School Record : House Prefect, 1936; Corporal in the Cadet Corps; Rugger 1st XV, 1935-36; Cricket 2nd XI, 1934 to 1936. He was keen on Scouts, also athletics, swimming and hockey. On Plumtree School Roll of Honour. On Ruzawi Preparatory School War Memorial, near Marandellas, Rhodesia
