Cause of Death:
Killed in action, during attack on Bardia, North Africa. When "C" Coy got to their final objective, they were pinned down under heavy MG fire and sniper fire. He moved forward some 50 yards and while attempting to throw a grenade at the sniper, he was hit and the exploding grenade killed him. He was recommended for the award of the D.C.M.(Post)
