Killed in action, Wellington III X3696, took off 1922 26 March 1943 from Dishforth. Target Duisburg, 455 aircraft, 6 losses. This raid was a failure because 5 Oboe equipped Mosquitoes were forced to return to base due to technical difficulties, so no sky marking had been possible. As a result bombing was scattered. Last heard on W/T at 0205 when its position was roughly 60 miles East of the Yorkshire coastal town of Withernsea |
