Information:
Son of Edward and Sarah Phillips, of 336A, Point Rd., Durban, Natal. Victor Phillips originally attested for the 2nd S.A.I. in September 1915 but attested again in April 1917, being posted to the 1st (Reserve Regiment) S.A. Infantry. He arrived in France on 6 April 1918 and was posted missing, presumed killed, six days later during the battle of Messines Ridge on 12 April 1918.
